前面道路幅員が限られ、周囲も近接建物に囲まれた敷地であるため、外周から採光を 確保するのではなく、中庭を断面の中心に置く構成から検討を始めた。居間、階段、 水回りを中庭に向けてずらしながら重ねることで、各室が異なる高さから光を受ける ようにしている。
設計初期には 3D モデルを用いて日射の入り方と隣地からの視線を比較し、開口の位置 と庇の寸法を調整した。中庭は装飾的な余白ではなく、生活の距離感を整える屋外室と して扱い、家族の気配が緩やかに交わる中心として計画している。
Because the site faces a narrow street and is closely surrounded by neighboring buildings, the project began by introducing a courtyard at the center of the section rather than relying on the perimeter for light. Living space, stair, and service areas are layered toward that void so that each room receives light from a slightly different height.
Early studies used a 3D model to compare solar access and overlooking from adjacent plots, which helped calibrate the position of openings and the depth of eaves. The courtyard is treated not as decorative empty space but as an outdoor room that adjusts distance within everyday life and gathers the atmosphere of the house.
