路地町家の設計室改修 Machiya Office Renovation
京町家の既存構成を残しながら、設計室と打合せ機能を挿入した内装改修。 An interior renovation that inserts workspace and meeting functions into a Kyoto townhouse while preserving its calm sequence.

細長い町家の一部を設計室として使うため、奥行きの深い平面の中に作業、打合せ、 資料保管の機能をどう配分するかを検討した。既存の柱梁や天井高さの差を活かし、 一室化しすぎずに連続性を保つ構成としている。
設備更新と断熱補強は最小限に抑えつつ、照明計画と家具寸法の調整で作業環境を 整えた。古い建物に新しい表情を与えるというより、既存の静けさを損なわずに 現在の使い方へ合わせ直すことを主眼にしている。
The project reworks part of a narrow machiya into a design office, asking how work space, meetings, and archives could be distributed within a deep plan. Existing columns, beams, and shifts in ceiling height were used to maintain continuity without flattening the house into one generic room.
Building services were updated only where necessary, while the work environment was shaped through lighting and precise furniture dimensions. Rather than giving the old building a new visual identity, the project adjusts its quiet character to current use.
