既存建物は間口の小さい鉄骨造の工場で、躯体の健全性は保たれていた一方、採光と 断熱性能に大きな課題があった。そこで既存フレームを活かしつつ、1 階を制作と来客、 2 階を住居とする二層の使い分けを前提に計画を進めている。
改修では、躯体補修と断熱改修を優先しながら、既存サッシの位置関係を読み替えて 新しい開口計画を組み立てた。素材の更新を強く見せるよりも、建物が持つ工業的な 寸法感覚を残し、使い方だけを静かに更新することを目指している。
The existing building was a narrow steel workshop with a sound frame but poor daylight and thermal performance. The proposal keeps the main structural order and reassigns the first floor to making and receiving visitors while the upper level becomes living space.
The renovation prioritizes frame repair and insulation upgrades while reinterpreting the position of existing openings. Rather than foregrounding new finishes, the project preserves the industrial sense of dimension already present in the building and updates its use quietly.
