隣戸と接する面が多く、開口の自由度が限られる連棟住宅で、採光と風通しをどう改善 するかが主な課題となった。1 階の一部床を掘り下げて天井高を確保しつつ、階段室上部の トップライトから光を落とす断面構成を採用している。
既存躯体の残し方と設備更新の範囲を丁寧に見極め、過度な解体を行わずに生活性能を 引き上げることを優先した。小さな住戸であっても、移動の抜けと視線の奥行きがあるだけで 空間の印象が大きく変わることを確認した案件である。
Because many sides of the dwelling adjoin neighboring units, the main challenge was how to improve daylight and ventilation within a restricted envelope. Part of the first-floor slab is lowered to gain height, while a top light above the stair brings daylight deep into the section.
The project carefully limits demolition and upgrades only what is needed to raise everyday performance. It confirmed again that even in a small house, a little extra depth of movement and sight can significantly change the atmosphere of living.
